Welcome to our new website!
Welcome to our new website! Crossroad’s creative staff has been working quietly behind the scenes for several months to create a warmer, more informative home for us on the internet. I think they’ve done a great job. I hope that after looking around for awhile, you’ll agree.
Crossroad is blessed to have great stakeholders who are invested in one or more ways in our mission. Our long heritage of service has been enhanced by relationships with great clients, consumers, placing agents, Judges, donors, churches, prayer-partners, collaborators, interns, volunteers, Board members, employees and would-be employees. I value those relationships with you, and hope that this electronic resource enhances our connection with each other. Regardless of how you are connected with us, I believe you will find something here useful and of interest to you.
We began with a few simple goals. First and foremost, we want you to know about us and the needed services we provide to kids and families. In this time of rapid changes, I believe it is important that information be timely and current. This new website will help accomplish that goal. Secondly, I want to make it easy for you to be involved in our mission. Here you will find useful links making it easy to contact us, to apply for a job, to volunteer, and to support needy kids and families. You’ll notice a little round button on each page. Click on the round button, and your monetary gift will be moments away from helping a child.

Being at Crossroad
No matter what level or type of treatment they receive, the girls and boys at Crossroad share common experiences.
Emotional and social development: Children meet individually with their therapists one to three times each week and usually attend group therapy at least once a week.
Education: In cooperation with Fort Wayne Community Schools, Crossroad operates an on-campus school that provides a complete academic program. Residents have mandatory study time and individual tutoring is available. Youth who are doing well in their treatment may attend public school off campus.
Recreation: Crossroad’s Northland Education/Recreation Building has a competition-sized swimming pool, gymnasium and exercise room. Boys and girls also may go off campus for activities such as art or music lessons, movies, concerts, sports events or bowling.
Health care: Youth receive regular physical and dental examinations at the Family Practice Center. Crossroad’s registered nurses are available daily and on call around the clock.
Religion: Participation in religious activities is voluntary. Crossroad’s chaplain offers on-campus worship services and special activities for interested residents. The chaplain also arranges for children to attend church in the community, if appropriate.
Family: If the child’s treatment plan allows, regular visits with family members are encouraged.
